There are many coffee types, the specific number varies depending upon how you break it down.

Types of coffee include European coffee, African coffee, South American coffee and pacific region coffee if you are categorizing by region. If you prefer to categorize your coffee by roast, there are dark, light and medium roasts. The three main coffee certifications are shade grown, organic and fair trade coffee. Many people classify coffee by the simple differentiation between caffeinated and decaf coffee.

Others commonly break it down by how the coffee is prepared: whether it is espresso, iced coffee, cappuccino, macchiato, cafe latte, or fancier drinks such as iced white chocolate mochas with cream.
